A New Chapter for Great Pond Foundation’s Board
Board Chair and Board Director Changes

This summer brings an exciting new chapter for Great Pond Foundation as we celebrate a meaningful leadership transition on our Board of Directors. After six years of dedicated service as board chair, Curt Greer has stepped down from the role while continuing to lend his expertise, insight, and commitment as a valued member of the Executive Committee.
We are deeply grateful to Curt for his outstanding leadership, steady guidance, and dedication to the Foundation’s mission. During his tenure as chair, Curt oversaw the development of our Board, the enhancement of our staff’s capacity, the broadening of our mission, and the outfitting of our Vineyard Haven laboratory. Curt’s vision has helped strengthen Great Pond Foundation’s work, advance science-based stewardship, and deepen the collaboration and community partnerships that protect and preserve the health of our ponds, across the Island. We are fortunate that Curt will continue to serve on the Board and remain an important part of the Foundation’s future.

We are also delighted to welcome Will Darman as our new board chair. One of Great Pond Foundation’s longest-serving Directors, Will brings deep institutional knowledge, an unwavering commitment to our mission, and a thoughtful, forward-looking vision. His leadership will honor the Foundation’s strong legacy while inspiring continued growth and impact in this exciting next chapter.

Alongside this transition, we are excited to welcome Amy Salzman, who joined the Board of Directors in April 2026. Amy’s addition further strengthens GPF’s leadership as Great Pond Foundation continues its work to support our Island’s coastal ponds, and communities. Amy is the President of Chilmark Pond Association as serves as an ex officio member of Chilmark Pond Foundation.
