To cultivate the resilience of our coastal pond ecosystems through science, collaboration, and education.

Each year Great Pond Foundation hires summer science interns to assist in the water quality monitoring program , MV CYANO cyanobacteria monitoring program and other initiatives related to maintaining and preserving healthy coastal ecosystems. This internship provides valuable career experience while allowing individuals to be a part of monitoring coastal ponds ecosystem health and serve the Marthas’ Vineyard community.

The Next Generation Initiative was created to inspire younger community members to develop a meaningful connections to the ponds and to participate in the long-term preservation.
