Sunrise 🌅 over Edgartown Great Pond on Thursday, October 29th. The cut is still open, but for how long? We need to collect one more nutrient sample 🧪set after it closes. If you see it close before us, please let us know. These tides flush the Pond and recharge it with salty 🧂, clean, and 🆒 ocean water 💧. This elevation plot shows data 📈 through Wednesday, October 28th, when the team conducted our final water quality run of the season. Water is cool, clear, salty, and no cyanobacteria 🦠were detected.

17 Days of tidal 🌊 flushing and Edgartown Great Pond is still open 🙌🏻. This fall cut is a huge success ⭐️ and this low, clean, salty state is the ideal way to go into the cold season. This was an excellent cut for our nutrient modeling work with @mblwoodshole @umces_hpl @lloret_javi @mkhayn . Photos and details still to come.
