2024 POND REPORTS

During the field season our science team collects water quality and nutrient samples to assess the ecosystem. These data and scientific support is shared with local, state, and federal agencies to help them make informed decisions about pond management. We also use these data to create our annual Ecosystem Monitoring Reports. These annual reports are created to provide highlights of each ponds ecosystem.

Below you will find photos from our monthly nutrient sample collection and trips to the Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL) in Woods Hole to filter the nutrient samples.

We are proud of our science team for their work both individually and collectively to complete our greatly anticipated annual science reports. These reports are made possible because of Owen and Carly who work hard at analyzing the collected data, finding trends, making graphs and communicating our findings in a comprehensive way.

This is just one of the ways that the Great Pond Foundation team works tirelessly year-round to fulfill our mission: To cultivate the resilience of our coastal pond ecosystems through science, collaboration, and education.
