Sneak Peek Of The Off-Season

The Great Pond Foundation team works tirelessly year-round to fulfill our mission: To cultivate the resilience of our coastal pond ecosystems through science, collaboration, and education.

The work doesn’t slow down in the off-season for the science team. In 2024 we collected data from 19 ponds and we will continue our visits to 7 of the ponds in the off-season.

Another task that continues during our off-season are our monthly trips to the Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL) in Woods Hole for example, this week Owen and Carly filtered nutrient samples at the MBL for our last run of 2024.

We are proud of our science team for their work both individually and collectively to complete our greatly anticipated annual science reports. These reports are made possible because of David, Owen and Carly who work hard at analyzing the collected data, finding trends, making graphs and communicating our findings in a comprehensive way.
